Shibori Shenanigans

I had a great day on Saturday running a Shibori indigo dyeing workshop for Preston Embroiders Guild.

Much clamping, folding & stitching resulted in a wide range of samples, dyed garments & reinvigorated linens. The itajime (folding & clamping method of preparation for the dye bath) scarf, pictured above, is due to be nuno felted. It’s going to be a stunner! As ever the indigo bath delivered rich shades & beautiful tones.

Falling Leaves

It’s definitely feeling autumnal now. I realised the rich variety of trees we have growing in our local woods when I collected leaves to work from. Tilly, the mad dog, foraged for acorns as a snack attack & a kind soul had left out crate of apples to take, so crumble for pudding……

I’ve put together a collection using scattered leaves & leaves falling in a stripe. I could go on with this one!
